Heading into the 2023 season, there are a few glaring needs on the Green Bay Packers roster. The team could certainly use an upgrade at the safety position and adding some experience on the offensive side of the ball certainly wouldn’t hurt.

The one position that some people would love to see the Packers make an addition to is wide receiver. A bold decision was made to trade Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2022 offseason and it backfired quickly.

There wasn’t a player on the team who could replicate what Adams was able to do production-wise. Heading into the 2023 season, they are even thinner on accomplished talent as there isn’t a single wide receiver on the roster with more than one season of NFL experience.

That is something the Packers should be open to change, especially with Jordan Love taking over as the starting quarterback for the first time in his career. His transition would be easier with a bonafide go-to option at wide receiver.

Who could the team target? McQuade Arnold of Wisconsin Sports Heroics suggested that the Packers make a move for Buffalo Bills star, Stefon Diggs. Earlier this offseason it seemed as if the relationship between Diggs and the Bills was deteriorating as their last day of mini camp practice was canceled for a situation involving him.

What could a deal between the Packers and Bills look like? Arnold suggested that Green Bay offer offensive lineman Yoshua Nijman and second, third and sixth-round picks in the 2024 NFL draft in exchange for Diggs.

It would be hard to imagine the Bills accepting any trade offer for Diggs that doesn’t include at least one first-round pick. The going rate for top-flight wide receivers around the league in trades is at least one as A.J. Brown and Tyreek Hill both cost that.

Diggs is certainly on at least the same tier as them in terms of value and would command at least one first-rounder if not multiple second-rounders in a deal.

This is a package that the Packers would call into the office as fast as they could. Receiving an All-Pro wide receiver without surrendering a first-round pick is something that would require fair trades being turned off in a video game.
