Travis Kelce Comments on Taylor Swift's Latest Album

Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, got an early listen to her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department. According to many sources close to the 34-year-old NFL great, Kelce listened to tracks from the highly anticipated album before it was released on April 19.

“He is always in awe of her,” says one insider of Kelce’s response to his girlfriend’s new record. Swift stated two hours after The Tortured Poets Department’s release that the project was a double album and released 15 extra songs at 2 a.m., including two tunes that appear to reference her relationship with Kelly.

Swift’s song “So High School” off the new album speaks about a newfound love feeling “so high school” and appears to reference a previous interview Kelce conducted in which he was asked who he would marry, kiss, and murder amongst her, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry. Kelce chose his future girlfriend to kiss ahead of time.

“Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me (Kill me) / It’s just a game, but really (Really) / I’m bettin’ on all three for us two (All three),” the song begins. Swift also employs football analogies as a hint to her partner in her song “The Alchemy,” which appears on the album’s first portion.

“So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown,” Swift says in her song. She also mentions making a great “comeback” and a “winning streak” in the song, which many believe is about her romance with the NFL player.

The bridge also seems to include a pointed reference to Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl, when Swift famously celebrated with him on the field. “Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said / ‘There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league’ / Where’s the trophy? He just comes, running over to me,” she sings, apparently a nod to Kelce reuniting with her on the field after his big win.

Swift and Kelce looked close over a weekend in the desert at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, one week before her new album’s release. The duo joined Swift’s previous Eras Tour opener Sabrina Carpenter and her boyfriend Barry Koeghan on the adventure, where they were seen dancing and kissing while seeing friends Ice Spice and Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers perform at the festival.

Swift and Kelce had a low-key date night at Los Angeles hotspot Sushi Park before their PDA-filled performance at Coachella.
