Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill wanted all the smoke, as he straight-up said he was the most important piece to the Kansas City Chiefs offense, and not quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Hill left no stone unturned during the debut of his podcast, It Needed To Be Said. While him saying that his new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is more accurate than Mahomes is totally fair and 100-percent true, Hill cannot possibly claim that he is what made Mahomes a star in Kansas City.

Mahomes is one of the greatest talents the quarterback position has ever seen. This take is nuts.

Here is Hill claiming he was the most important player on the field in Chiefs games, not Mahomes.

Has Hill’s ego been bruised after getting traded? Oh, no doubt. The hall-of-fame trio of Hill, Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce was the modern day Dallas Cowboys Triplets.

It was great while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end. Hill may have opened up the field for Mahomes to operate, but it’s not like Mahomes is an immobile stiff in the pocket back there either.

In all seriousness, Mahomes always had the talent, but it was a question of if it could be refined, and how fast.

By landing in a well-run organization like the Chiefs and playing for an elite offensive play caller in Andy Reid, we are so lucky to see Mahomes playing at his apex this quickly.

Hill played a huge part in his growth and development as a superstar, but he did not carry Mahomes.

What is cool though is Hill will have his opportunity to prove his point this fall in Miami.

He will be a huge boost to Tagovailoa and the Chiefs probably will regress a tad offensively without him in it.

How could they not? Regardless, these are two perennial All-Pro playmakers we are talking about. They worked so well together, but now we get to see what they do as AFC rivals.

Hill will always be a part of Mahomes’ legend but he is not the reason he is a Chiefs’ success story.
