An NBA superstar playfully poked fun at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on Monday. Burrow took to Instagram to post a photo of himself recently taking batting practice before a Cincinnati Reds game.
The photo was posted with the caption “Joey De La Cruz”, which is a reference to the Reds’ exciting young shortstop/third baseman Elly De La Cruz.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, a former high school baseball player whose dad works in player relations for the New York Mets, commented on the post, writing “You ain’t hit any out” along with a crying laughing emoji.
Burrow actually did hit some home runs according to the Bengals’ social media accounts, so Mitchell might have jumped the gun on his “shade” at Burrow.

Mitchell, however, still has bragging rights over Burrow. That’s because Mitchell won a home run derby this past weekend by hitting 11 homers in under a minute.

Mitchell might have the edge on the diamond, but we all know Burrow would destroy the NBA star in any sort of NFL skills competition challenge.
