Tampa Bay Buccaneers are keeping an eye on tryout players from the rookie minicamp.
They have signed another player, tight end J.J Howland, a former Yale and the All-Ivy honoree of 2021.
The introduction of the new TE to the team leads us to the question of whether Rob Gronkowski will retire or not? Although Rob hasn’t made any clear comments on his retirement, he has been giving hints.
On the other hand, All-Ivy Honoree, J.J. Howland recorded the best figures of 16 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns.
Also, in the first game of last season, Howland scored a 74- yard touchdown against Holy Cross which became one of the season’s highlights.
Ivy League undrafted rookie tight end? The Bucs are signing former Yale tight end J.J. Howland to a contract after he impressed in rookie minicamp this weekend. Howland even wore Cam Brate's 84 as a tryout player.

Recently, the Buccaneers also signed a deal with 4 other players from the rookie minicamp. They signed tight end Jerell Adam, cornerback Antonio Hamilton, running back Troymaine Pope, and safety Curtis Riley.
The Buccaneers look strong with 5 TE excluding Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski is unclear about his role in the upcoming season and wants to wait until he makes up his mind.
Last April, he made a statement by saying, “So if I’m not all in to do that, then I’m not going to put myself out there in that situation”.
“If I’m feeling that, if I want to go knock my head around, you know, put my body on the line, if I feel like doing that again, miss that, I would certainly sign another contract.“
But the Buccaneers are playing it safe and now their team comprises 5 TEs namely Cameron Brate, Codey McElroy, Ko Kief, Ben Beise, and J.J. Howland.
In fact, the Buccaneers would not want Rob to leave their side at least for this season, as he has the potential and is among the most experienced tight ends.
He might be not performing as he used to for the Patriots, but still, his importance cannot be neglected. During the two years with the Buccaneers, he has had 100 receptions for 1,425 yards and 13 Touchdowns.
