In a way, the head coach of a football team is also like the father of the team. The special relationships formed between player and coach often goes beyond what happens on the field.
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is not old enough to be a father for 99% of his players, but his combination of leadership and personable skills has made him one of the best player coaches in the business.
Zac Taylor the family man is just as awesome.
The Talbert House named Taylor the “Father of the Year” this week as the organization hosted its Fatherhood Celebration in downtown Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall.
The celebration raises funds to support the Fatherhood Project, a program that assists men in being responsible, committed and nurturing dads. The event hopes to raise $350,000 for the program.
Cincinnati has been the home to the Taylor family since 2019, but they also spent a year in the city when the head coach of the Bengals was the offensive coordinator for the University of Cincinnati back in 2016.
Moving back to the Queen City became a dream for the family, and that dream was realized three years later.
Taylor has raised four children with his wife Sarah while progressing his coaching career to where it is now. The family loves the city as much as the city loves them.
This award just goes to show how amazing the Bengals’ head coach really is.
