Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa Bryant have a great love story, as almost everyone knows. Vanessa has always supported Kobe throughout his life, ever since they were children.
The first woman he ever loved was his best friend, and he eventually married her. Kobe’s career began at a very young age, when he was still in high school, hooping along with his studies.
He has been a part of many interviews and TV shows showcasing his skills and his talent. Kobe joined the NBA after completing high school. There were very few interviews or television appearances by Vanessa.
In her eyes, it was only Kobe, not the spotlight and fame that comes with him. They made a beautiful couple. Vanessa was a senior at Marina High School when news of her relationship with popular Lakers player Kobe began making the media rounds.
The Los Angeles Times reported that a TV helicopter captured Vanessa’s image while hovering over the school. Due to Kobe’s huge fan base,
Vanessa missed her prom and started doing homeschooling “because of the notoriety,” Robert Laine, her grandfather, told the newspaper. At one point, the Times even interviewed her fellow classmates to find out more about the women who had captured Kobe’s heart.
As Graham Finochio described it, the rush between classmates occurred when they knew Kobe was sending “flowers and stuff” to some “chick.”
During the production of Tha Eastsidaz’s “G’d up” music video in 1999, they first met. From being “Some Chick” Kobe Bryant sent flowers to becoming the “Backbone” of his existence,
In his words, “You’re my backbone. You’re a blessing. You’re a piece of my heart. You’re the air I breathe. And you’re the strongest person I know”.
People reported that Vanessa overcame her fear of flying to fly to Lower Merion, Pennsylvania, to attend Kobe’s jersey retirement ceremony.
The couple spent more than two decades as a married couple before Kobe’s tragic death. Currently, she is carrying on the legacy of Bryant. We would like to hear your thoughts about their love story.
