Top OT prospect falls to Bucs in new mock draft

Top OT prospect falls to Bucs in new mock draft

CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards released his newest mock draft on Saturday, and it features some notable shakeups — four QBs get taken in a row, for example.

As a result of that windfall, the Bucs end up with a top OT prospect in this draft that is often mocked way higher in Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski.

Here is what the mock wrote about Tampa Bay’s selection: Tampa Bay needs another building block or two on its offensive line and Peter Skoronski has the versatility to play every position. He could even play left tackle for the Buccaneers, just as he did for the Wildcats.

While all of this is true, it would be quite a surprise to see Skoronski fall as far as he does in this mock. He’s the No. 1-ranked prospect on PFF’s tackle board and No. 3 on The Draft Network’s.

So it stands to reason that a tackle of his caliber falling to the Bucs at pick No. 19 would be unlikely. The team could trade up to get him, but that would come with inherent risks that GM Jason Licht may not be keen on taking at this stage.
