Will Smith’s famous offspring, Willow and Jaden Smith, were at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles, getting ready for Smith’s premiere of “King Richard” — when they heard Rogen’s distinctive voice over the speakers at the hotel.
Rogen was speaking on a panel about his new series, “Santa Inc.,” during the Vulture Festival, and the pair decided to crash at just the right time, says a source. “Rogen was giving Will Smith and Adam Sandler props for being examples of two celebrities who are ‘good at being famous,’” an attendee tells us. “And saying that there is a reason why ‘Will Smith is the most famous person in the world and I’m just a Jew who makes stoner movies.’”
We also hear that Rogen pointed out, “Not everyone who is a great actor is good at being famous — and not everyone who is great at being a famous person is talented in any way… They are two very different skill sets,” he said, according to a source. The actor plays Santa in the new HBO animated series, and he told the crowd that due to his Jewish upbringing he was surprised by some of the rituals.
“People love Christmas and I’m amazed by it,” he said. “The first time I saw a Christmas tree, I was like, ‘Oh, they really do this s–t.’” Later that night, Willow and Jaden joined Smith and their famous mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, on the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
