Recent mock has Chiefs getting a steal in the first round

The Kansas City Chefs need to add to their wide receiver room, and they can do that with one of their 12 draft picks this weekend.

We still don’t really know what position, whether it be a receiver, right tackle, or edge rusher, the Chiefs are going to prioritize and take in round one.

This draft isn’t as deep for the receiver position as we have seen in the last few years. This draft is one that if you want an elite receiver or a guy with elite potential, I should say, you will have to take them early. The Chiefs may have to do that and take one in the first round.

But, with where they pick, it will be tough to get the receiver they like. At least, that’s just what we assume.
But, one ESPN analyst did a mock draft, and he has the Chiefs grabbing Jordan Addison from USC with that 31st pick, which would be an absolute steal.

Addison is expected to go in the top 20 by many people. By Pro Football Focus standards, he is their second-best receiver in the draft, and the 23rd-best player in the draft overall. Here is what PFF thinks about Addison:

Addison was the Biletnikoff Award winner with Pittsburgh in 2021 before transferring to USC. He’s a crafty route runner with the kind of a bend to run a full route tree.

He caught 159 passes for 2,468 yards and 25 scores over the past two seasons. This is a guy Mahomes would love because he can run routes crazy well, and he can run the whole route tree if needed. He is more of a technician and a guy that breaks down his opponents.

Addison If there is anything he needs to improve, it is definitely his strength. PFF sees him s a guy who can be a high-end number two guy, which is fine because the Chiefs think Kadarius Toney will be their wide receiver one.
