The Kansas City Chiefs super star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is going to have the opportunity to show what he is made of in the 2023 season.

The 2023 schedule is here, and let’s be honest, the Chiefs have some great matchups that should be primetime TV.

Instead they play the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots on primetime TV, and not the Cincinnati Bengals or Buffalo Bills. But one primetime game will give the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes and opportunity he has never had before. Mahomes and the Chiefs’ are slated to take on Aaron Rodgers, who is now the New York Jets quarterback.

After a crazy offseason, he found his way to a team that is young and talented, and frankly a team that was just missing a quarterback.

Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers have four of the last five MVP awards, so you know this matchup could be crazy. In fact, they are going to be doing something that doesn’t happen very often.

According to NFL Comms, if Mahomes and Rodgers both play when their teams face each other in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football, this will be the seventh time two quarterbacks who have won multiple MVPs would play each other. Mahomes and Rodgers have been slated to play each other twice before this, but it just didn’t end up working out.

The first time Mahomes was injured after he dislocated his knee cap on the quarterback run, which led to Matt Moore almost beating the Green Bay Packers.

The second time Rodgers was hurt, and the Chiefs were able to get the win. Mahomes threw for just 166 yards as the Chiefs barely won 13-7.

When these two meet in Week 4, let’s hope the game is nt only a bit more exciting, but let’s hope the Chiefs do the same thing and win. A lot of people are dubbing this “the state farm bowl” and it’s just adding to the narratives around the hype. Week 4 will be fun nonetheless.
