Report: Man United hold talks over signing 18-year-old Barcelona starlet

According to 90min.com (h/t Liverpool Echo), Manchester United have held talks over the possibility of signing teenage midfield prodigy Moriba’s from Barcelona this summer. The 18-year-old Moriba is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia youth setup.

 

The teenager made his first-team debut under Ronald Koeman earlier this year and quickly became a regular in the senior setup, finishing the 2020/21 season with 18 appearances in which he managed a goal and three assists.

 

 

 

 

However, Moriba’s time at Barcelona could be nearing an end as the teenager has entered the final year of his contract with the Catalan giants. While talks have been ongoing for a while, a resolution has been not arrived at, leaving the Barcelona chiefs ‘fed up’ over the midfielder’s demands.

And even though Manchester United could stand to gain a lot by signing the 18-year-old in the future, entering a potential bidding war this summer might not be the best idea.
