Max Verstappen and Dilara Sanlik reportedly started their relationship in 2017. She was often seen around the F1 paddock across race weekends but the Dutch driver has revealed he no longer has a girlfriend. During an interview with German TV station RTL ahead of the Eifel Grand Prix, Verstappen answered some of his most-Googled questions. The driver was handed a board and one-by-one he removed the stickers to reveal the popular search terms.
The first one that appeared was ‘Max Verstappen girlfriend’, which led to Verstappen saying: “That’s a good start.” Speaking to RTL presenter Kai Ebel, he added: “That’s the first thing you ask? Despite revealing that he is currently single, Verstappen did not go into details about his break-up with Sanlik. The Red Bull star, though, will be focused on this weekend’s race at the Nurburgring,
which is back on the F1 calendar for the first time since 2013. I’m feeling good heading into the weekend, I feel very relaxed and I’m looking forward to driving a track that we haven’t been to in Formula 1, at least for me anyway,” he said. It’s exciting to go to the unknown, similar to Mugello. “I haven’t raced at the Nurburgring since Formula 3 so I’m excited to go back there to see what a Formula 1 car can do.
It’s a very technical track, I like it. The weather looks like it’s going to be a lot colder than the races we’ve had so far this year, and there may be a little bit of rain so hopefully that will make it an even more interesting race weekend. Verstappen’s future with Red Bull came into question this week after their engine partner Honda announced they would be leaving F1 at the end of the 2021 season.
