Lewis Hamilton has appeared in the 2022 Mercedes overalls ahead of the team’s car launch on February 18, as they unveil their machine for the new Formula 1 season. There had been plenty of speculation as to Hamilton’s future in the sport after the controversial ending to the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP which saw Max Verstappen crowned F1 Drivers’ Champion.
It was reported that Hamilton would wait until the FIA report into the Abu Dhabi GP before making any decisions as to his retirement, and the new photo from Mercedes comes after team boss Toto Wolff had gone to the F1 Commission to give evidence in the aforementioned investigation.

Hamilton is back
After almost two months off social media, Hamilton posted a picture of himself at the Grand Canyon with the message ‘I’ve been gone. Now I’m back’. Now this new photo from the team has confirmed his participation in the 2022 F1 season as he seeks to win his eight Drivers’
Championship, and this eclipse the record of seven he shares with Michael Schumacher. This season Hamilton will be partnered by George Russell, after Valtteri Bottas moved to Alfa Romeo.
