“I can play at a very high level”: Andy Murray Devises New Tactics in Preparation For Moselle Open 2021

Former World No.1 Andy Murray lost a tough five-set marathon against World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round of the US Open 2021. Even though he gave a pretty tough fight to the Greek player, he could not finish on the winning side. However, there is some great news coming for his fans.

Andy Murray recently decided to play at the Moselle Open 2021 in Metz. He will be entering the tournament- which will be taking place from September 20, 2021, to September 26, 2021 as a wildcard.

While talking to the reporters in Rennes where Murray is currently playing at a Challenger tournament, he stated that his body is absolutely fine at the moment. Currently at the 116th position, he also stated that he wants to improve his ATP rankings and for that he needs to play more and more matches on the tour.

“I’ve had a lot of matches this year, and my body is fine. The goal for the last few years has been to try and improve my ranking. For that, I have to compete often,” said Murray to the reporters.

Unlike last year, Murray has played quite a lot of matches in 2021. It will be intriguing to see if he manages to keep himself fit for the remaining part of the year.

Murray has already confirmed his presence at the Indian Wells Masters 2021 and there too, he will be playing as a wildcard. He believes that he can still play some quality tennis but needs to climb up in the rankings to avoid playing against top-players in the beginning of any tournament.

“I still feel that I can play at a very high level. Every time I go to a tournament I play a top player from the start, it’s not easy. I have to improve my ranking to avoid this,” added the 3-time Grand Slam champion.
