Lewis Hamilton Hints on Future After F1 Career

Lewis Hamilton, the ever-dominant Formula 1 driver, is on the verge of creating history by claiming his 8th world championship title this season. And despite the mountainous records under his name, he isn’t keen on giving up his racing career just yet. He even signed a 2-year contract extension with Mercedes, meaning he will remain a part of the grid until the end of 2023.

But what after that? Well, the Briton hinted at a shade of interest falling on acting. Hamilton affirmed that he gets ‘star-struck’ when coming across Hollywood celebrities and that he certainly would love to take up a new career path in the cinematic universe. During a virtual meet with fans, Hamilton was asked whether he would enjoy working in a car-based film series similar to Vin Diesel’s Fast and Furious saga.

“I literally just met Vin Diesel like two days ago. I went out to see a friend on the water and he happened to be there. So, I was talking to Vin, and I was like, ‘can you actually drive?’ You know, I really get star-struck when I meet certain people,” the seven-time world champion said. “I met Robert De Niro the other day and I remember calling my dad afterwards. ‘Dad, I just met Robert De Niro!’” Hamilton is steadily getting his hands into the fashion industry, which could well be a part of his future career plans.

Along with fashion, the Briton has often involved himself in the music industry as well, working alongside pop star, Christina Aguilera. The Mercedes driver affirmed that he would love to work as an actor in the future. But, of course, he clarified that he is clueless as to how whether he can even act in front of a camera. “I would love to do something in movies. I promise you I will do something in the future that’s different to, you know, cars,” he said. “So, there are some really interesting conversations that are happening, and so, I would love to. But, I don’t even know if I can really act, so I will sort it out at that time.”

This could be an interesting career path for the record-equaling world champion, and the fact that he is in contact with several movie stars in Hollywood, it wouldn’t be hard for the Briton to find himself a role in a movie or two following his decade-long career in Formula 1.
