Sebastian Vettel & Lewis Hamilton at odds with each other in Baku
It was a safety-car period at Azerbaijan when championship rivals Hamilton and Vettel collided with each other at Turn 15. Hamilton had suddenly stopped as Vettel ran into his rear end. What happened next was unseen in Formula 1. As his Ferrari rammed into the rear of Hamilton’s car, the safety car period wasn’t ideal for Vettel. However, looking back both then and now, the situations are very similar.

A lot of controversies ensued; a debate that ended with Hamilton’s innocence. After the investigation, the FIA stated Lewis did not break-test Sebastian. However, Vettel believed otherwise. “He was accelerating then he braked so much that I was braking as soon as I saw, but I couldn’t stop in time and ran into the back of him. I just think that wasn’t necessary.”

Now, there is a slightly different situation at hand. Although the FIA has called in both the drivers, it is a championship drive on the line. Further, the rivals are on par with each other. With a winner takes all race in Abu Dhabi, every decision will matter. Regardless, things just got very interesting.
