Met Gala embraces celebrities from different fields in a star-studded night. Simone made her debut at the Met Gala 2021, wearing a custom look by AREA x Athleta. The look was designed by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk of Area. Interestingly, it took 100 craftsmen and 6,650 hours that is slightly over 9 months to get the look ready.

Simone, who herself weighs 103.6-lb, wore a dress that weighed 88-lb, stunning everyone. It included a Swarovski crystal-embellished skirt, a mini dress underneath, and a night-sky inspired bodysuit.

The 88-pound outfit had over 17,000 feet of Swarovski Glass crystal chains. In addition, the dress also had almost 200 feet of tulle. The silver and black shining gown was so heavy that six men had to carry it for the Olympic star. Biles combined the look with Fred Leighton’s jewelry that included a dangling pair of earrings. Later on, she wore the black bodysuit solo as she crossed the red carpet to attend the night full of stars.

Olympic legend Allyson Felix made her debut at the iconic fashion gala. Felix wore a Fendi ballgown which was made with 240,000 Ostrich Feathers. Simone’s fellow gymnast and Tokyo Olympics 2020, gold medalist Sunisa Lee, also made her debut.

Many other popular athletes graced the gala with their attendance. A few names were tennis star Serena Williams, NBA star Stephen Curry, F1 legend Lewis Hamilton and USWNT star Megan Rapinoe.
