Chris Simms names Bills' QB as NFL's best in annual rankings

Each offseason NBC Sports football analyst Chris Simms ranks his top-40 quarterbacks in the NFL.

To his credit, he’s always been pretty high on Josh Allen. This time, the level cannot go any higher for the Buffalo Bills’ signal caller.

Simms wrapped up the 2022 version of his rankings and Allen landed at the top-overall spot. He edged out the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes for No. 1.

Simms, a former quarterback himself, released the list over the course of the past few weeks via his podcast “Chris Simms Unbuttoned.”

“Josh Allen is the best quarterback in the NFL right now, there is no doubt. He is the guy I would take right off the bat. No one is asked to do more for their team, or carry their team more on a weekly basis than Josh Allen,” Simms said.

Rounding out the top-three might’ve been a bit of a surprise as well: the Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert. For the entire “Unbuttoned” episode where Simms names his top-four QBs in the league, check out the YouTube player below
