Barkley made an appearance on The Really Big Show on 850 ESPN Cleveland and was asked about the Lamar Jackson situation since the quarterback is still without a contract.

Even though Barkley’s expertise is in basketball, he still had a lot to say about Jackson. “Lamar, you’re playing with fire, brother,” Barkley said, via ProFootballTalk.

“You’re going to get burnt. These dudes, they’re all billionaires. They’re not going to let you screw up their business model. You’ve got to take the best deal.” That last point will likely ring true to Jackson, especially after he saw Jalen Hurts get his extension on Monday.

Hurts and the Eagles agreed on a five-year $255 million extension that will also see him get over $179 million of it guaranteed.

Hurts may have not gotten a fully guaranteed deal but he did become the highest-paid quarterback and overall player in NFL history.
